Treatment Focus

Favoring brief therapies that promote transformational healing means that the body/mind is the center of attention.  This  facilitates a natural holistic healing process and  the alignment of treatment goals to emerge early in the process.  Generally just a few sessions are required for many issues (including trauma).

Dorothy does not accept insurance and her fee is $100 per hour session.  A limited number of sliding scale sessions are available.

My Role

It is Dorothy's job  as a psychotherapist, to use  her clinical skills to provide painless shifts that eliminate ongoing effects of prior events.  As blocked energy is released change occurs and is automatic. This allows holistic healing to happen.

 Dorothy has experience treating:

  • Fears and Phobias
  • Sexual Trauma
  • Childhood Abuse
  • Insomnia
  • Heartbreak/Grief
  • Anger/Resentment
  • Guilt/Shame
  • Preoccupation
  • Weight Loss
  • Eating Disorders

PsychoTherapy/Rapid resolution therapy

Depression & Anxiety

Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives.   Using Rapid Resolution Therapy , these emotions can be released and the energy used toward focusing on what is beneficial and possible for you (and those you love). This method is especially useful to clear trauma painlessly.  Dorothy is certified in this method of holistic healing.

Trauma & PTSD

Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger following traumatic events. The mind can be updated to clear these troubling emotions using Rapid Resolution Therapy.

Relationships

Relationship counseling can be beneficial to couples who are looking to strengthen their emotional connection, in all stages of their relationship. Gottman Marital Therapy materials are used to build life-long relationship enhancing skills. In addition Dorothy will address any trauma with the intention of clearing that to increase deep connection with a partner.

Enter Neuroscience - BAUD

BAUD

The BAUD (Bio Acoustical Utilization Device) is a new and powerful tool for personal change.  Invented by Dr. Frank Lawlis, a pioneer in the field of medical psychology, this device is an FDA approved Class II device. This device uses sound to disrupt the pattern of the brain in response to a specific problem.  Using the brain's ability to change itself, brain circuits can be neutralized and troubling issues cleared.   BAUD may be used for trauma relief. It is a type of holistic healing based on neurofeedback.

The BAUD is useful for preoccupation and Dorothy will discuss using this methodology with you, if your issue fits the criteria for use.

Virtual gastric band

This weight loss program is a "forever diet."  Using the other than conscious mind (subconscious), a virtual gastric band is placed on the stomach to begin the process of retrieving the body signals of hunger and fullness.  Based on the work of Sheila Granger, Dorothy has added even more effective elements to clear any trauma and activate holistic healing where the body/mind work together toward optimal wellness.

FAQs

Is RRT the same as "talk therapy?" No, this is not normal talk therapy in that Dorothy  uses a structured approach to engage the subconscious.  She will not be asking you to speak about your issue in great detail immediately  (unless you want to do that) or to come up with solutions for your issue.  This way of working includes the entire body/mind (holistic healing) and therefore uses methods to influence   the data processing happening out of awareness.

Is RRT a form of hypnosis?   RRT has nothing to do with susceptibility or suggestibility. You will be awake, aware and in full control.

I have had a lot of therapy sessions and they did not help.  What's different?  This approach involves different ways of looking at how data is processed by the mind and includes humor and fun often.  Additionally it is goal oriented in a way that the subconscious understands.  This is a holistic approach that honors the body/mind continuum.

People report being absorbed in a conversation and are then surprised that the way they feel and think has been transformed. They tell me they feel lighter and that it is impossible to experience the turmoil that had been weighing them down. They report a sense of freedom and clarity.

What have clients said about meeting with Dorothy? "I don't know what you did, but the issue I came in with is just gone."  "You gave me my life back."

Is there science behind this approach for trauma?  Yes, the neuroscience of mind reconsolidation informs how to clear trauma.

Do you accept insurance?   No.  However, there are circumstances where payment plans are possible.

How much do you charge per session?  The fee is $100 per hour session.  Remember that this is brief therapy  and generally issues may be shifted more quickly than you might think.  It is not unheard of to see results after the first session.  I have a few spots open for sliding scale opportunities.  The first session is always $100.

Can I speak to you before I book a session?  Yes, of course. I’m happy to have a brief phone conversation with you at no cost to help you decide whether or not you’d like to go ahead.  You can request a call by completing my contact form.
